The KY Farm to School Network* is excited to host the October 2023 Kentucky Farm to School Challenge. The Farm to School Challenge calls on KY schools to complete at least 1 activity each in 3 areas of farm to school – Taste, Learn and Grow! At the end of the challenge, any school or classroom that has completed an activity in each area and filled out the participation form will be entered into a drawing for prizes and farm to school recognition. When you register for the challenge, we’ll send you a digital welcome packet with activity ideas and resources. Here are all of the important details:
- The KY Farm to School Challenge will run throughout October 2023.
- Registered schools will receive a Challenge toolkit mailed to their address and a PDF version to their email.
- Participation is by school or classroom (not district). This means an individual school or classroom must register to participate (you cannot register the district as one; but you can register each individual school). One representative from each school or classroom is encouraged to register and take care of filling out the participation form in September 2023, but all staff members and students of the school are encouraged to participate!
- All public and private schools and classrooms, and homeschool programs are invited to participate.
