This initiative is designed to support Kentucky’s specialty crop growers in implementing water resilience strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve farm sustainability.
Funding & Purpose:
This program is made possible through funding from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF), reflecting our commitment to helping growers meet buyer requirements, manage water resources effectively, and expand their businesses.

To apply, fill out this application form with all the requested information.
Please review all documents on this page before filling out the application. To ensure a smooth application process, have the following Required Supporting Documents ready before you start:
- ✅ Project Narrative Template describing project objectives and expected benefits
- ✅ Map of the project area (Google Earth image with boundaries marked is acceptable)
- ✅ Farm income documentation for the past two years (e.g., Schedule F from Form 1040)
- ✅ Kentucky Agricultural Water Quality Plan documentation
- ✅ Quotes or invoices for intended purchases (new/used equipment, construction, installation, etc.)
- ✅ Tax ID/ EIN (if applying as a business)
Maximum Grant Amount:
$10,000 (not to exceed 50% of total project costs)
Eligibility Requirements:
- One per household per year
- At least $25,000 in gross farm income or 20% of gross income from farming for previous 2 years
- Minimum of 1 BMP from Appendix B
- Must have established water source that project will enhance, increase efficiency, or better utilize
- Must be willing to work with community partners to promote and share project learnings
- Ownership of land or written document detailing rights, responsibilities, and future plans

Eligible Expenses
Must be related to installation of water resources best management practices (BMPs) or any innovative designs for water resource management approved by KADB. For more information on BMPs see the Appendix – Best Management Practices:
- Grant applications will be reviewed monthly and will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis
- 3 farms participated in 2023
- Over 10 farms participated in 2024
