Blueberry Workshop and Pruning Demo

Are you thinking about adding blueberries to your farm?

Join Berea College, the Madison Co Cooperative Extension Service, The University of Kentucky Horticulture Department, and the Kentucky Horticulture Council for a Blueberry Workshop on Monday, Feb. 17 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. This workshop will help you consider key aspects of this decision, from preparation to production techniques through profit potential and marketing your crop. We will cover the basics of: site selection, soil sampling, variety selection, pest management, marketing, and have hands-on activities (planting and pruning).

This workshop is designed for those exploring the possibilities of growing blueberries for income. Material presented will  assume little past knowledge of farming, but a background in gardening or farming will be very helpful.
