2026 KY Turf & Landscape Management Short Course

The 2026 Turf & Landscape Management Short Course: an opportunity to acquire CEUs and hear the most current scientific turf information.

The 49th Annual Turf & Landscape Management Short Course will be held February 17-19, 2026.  Tuesday, Feb. 17 is the pesticide training and testing day for new employees. Wednesday, Feb. 18 and Thursday, Feb. 19 are both educational days, and CEUs will be provided on both days. Attending both days will get you most (if not all) the Kentucky CEUs required for the next 3 years!

Program available now:

This program provides two full days of comprehensive turfgrass and landscape management education for anyone interested in turf, including professionals, Extension agents, and homeowners. Presentations will be provided by faculty in the University of Kentucky’s turfgrass program, other university programs, and industry representatives.

Sessions each day begin at 8:50 AM EST (registration opens at 8:00 AM) and end at 4:00 PM.

This short course has been approved for the following Kentucky pesticide applicator CEUs:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 17th5 CEUs for Category 3 (Ornamental, Turf, and Lawn Care) [for those who already have a license]
  • Wednesday, Feb. 18th5 CEUs for Category 3 (Ornamental, Turf, and Lawn Care) and 1 CEU for Category 10 (Demonstration and Research)
  • Thursday, Feb. 19th5 CEUs for Category 3 (Ornamental, Turf, and Lawn Care) and 1 CEU for Category 10 (Demonstration and Research)

The short course has also been approved for Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) points for all three days (.40 on Feb. 17th, .50 on Feb. 18th, and .50 on Feb. 19th).


If you need to take the pesticide license test, you must register separately with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Follow these instructions: Register to take the test here: https://www.kyagr-apps.com/AgExternal/Security/Account/RegisterApplicator. Select “2/17/26-Elizabethtown-Turf and Landscape Short Course Only” for location. Then select the test Category. For Turf, Lawn and Ornamental, select one of the following: “A3 for Applicator”, “O3 for Operator” or “N3 for non-commercial”.

The test costs $54.00 per person, per test and you can pay online or on-site (check or money order ONLY; make check payable to “Kentucky State Treasurer”).

The pesticide license test is now available in Spanish. To request the Spanish version of the test, complete the steps above to register for the test and then call 502-573-0282 and ask for Pesticides or Brad.

The Short Course event will be held regardless of weather conditions. Due to the cost to host and the administrative requirements of this event, we cannot issue refunds. We will, however, accept substitutions.


Attendees may qualify for a training reimbursement through the Ky GreenWorks Project! We are covering the cost of trainings, CEUs, short courses, safety gear, and more for qualifying employees of companies in the golf course, lawn, & landscape industry. Reimbursement is available to employees who live or work in one of the 75 eligible Kentucky counties.
