DESCRIPTION:2022 Kentucky Fruit and Vegetable Conference hosted by the Kentucky State Horticultural Society (166th Annual Meeting) and Kentucky Vegetable Growers Association (51st Annual Meeting) and Organic Association of Kentucky and Kentucky Wine Association in cooperation with University of Kentucky College of Agriculture\, Food\, and Environment\, Kentucky State University\, and Kentucky Department of Agriculture.\n\nThis premier\, state-wide event annually brings together more than 500 growers\, researchers\, and technical support providers. The conference kicks-off with pre-conference events including fruit and vegetable grower roundtable discussions with university specialists where the group debriefs on the production year\, challenges are discussed and questions are answered. The main conference program has more than 20 different educational tracts with more than 70 speakers. The trade show offers more than 70 vendors featuring horticulture products and services.

DESCRIPTION:Cultivating a Successful CSA with Production Efficiencies and Standard Operating Procedures\nUK Organic Farming Unit\, Lexington KY\nOctober 20\, 2021\, 1-4pm ET\nThe success of any CSA depends heavily on the planning\, organization\, and efficiency of the farm operations and its people – a process that’s been analyzed\, documented\, and improved consistently for over a decade at the UK Organic Farming Unit.\nJoin Kristi Durbin\, UK’s CSA Manager\, as she shares the importance of data collection\, documentation\, and evaluation to improve procedures and efficiencies from field to harvest\, including an overview of the crop planning and planting resources that she’s meticulously curated. Kristi will offer lessons learned regarding scaling up a CSA\, training workers\, packaging\, and presentation.\nIn consideration of safety and respect for all hosts\, participants\, and staff\, COVID-19 protocols for outdoor gatherings will be in place for this event\, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control\, Commonwealth of Kentucky\, and the University of Kentucky. Protocol will include limited attendance\, social distancing\, and face masks.
